My favourite icecream of all time, a biscuit and pudding rolled into one. The Maxibon can only rarely be bought on this small island I call home, but when I lived in Berlin I ate one daily. After six months I hadn’t tired of them, so it’s probably a good job I moved back to Britain. Anyway, so majestic is this treat that it has its very own wikipedia entry, which includes a delightful sub-category for the controversies Maxibon has caused in popular culture. For the record, the biscuity bit is definitely the best.
Addendum 04/05/08: I recently went to Granada and discovered that the Maxibon empire has grown. Check out all the new flavours!
Addendum 12/06/08. It’s official: you can buy Maxibons in London, albeit only the inferior vanilla flavour (I’m all about the whiter ice cream; I think it might be straticella flavour, which I can’t spell). The ice cream van at London Fields has them, so does the shop on Well Street in Hackney.

Hi Doro. I used to get my Maxibons in an off licence on Lenaustrasse in Neukoelln. My friend still lives around the corner. I’ll get her to check if the mighty ice cream is still available there and get back to you.
Anywhere else in London you can grab one? I’ve been dying for one for ages!
I am not sure about all Tescos, but I got a multipack of MAXIBON in the Tesco in Bow. It was the happiest moment of my life when I saw them.
